Here's a a Nice Leica IIIa from 1938 with a 50mm Elmar lens and it's leather case.

It's in very nice condition cosmetically----  with very light general wear and tear and some dirt in the nooks. No dents or dings, No serious rub marks or scratches. The leather is fine all around too.   The lens has some fog and it has a good amount of wear--- particularly on the pull-out barrel---- a lot of fine scratches, a tiny bit of pitting and brass is starting to show.  Some brass showing on the front lens rim too.

Mechanically---- the shutter fires well at ALL speeds---- yes all the way down to 1 second--- the slow speeds all look good.  The fast ones sound great too.  No guarantees on how accurate they are, but the speeds look/sound good--- so maybe it got a CLA recently--- because also, the curtains look very smooth.   And it winds smoothly too.  The rangefinder works but is very weak, the other viewfinder is crystal clear.  The lens is a little foggy and the focus is a little stiff, but the aperture looks great and moves easily. There is a curious rectangular metal button welded onto the shutter speed dial--- I don't know for what purpose other than to grip it better?

So it's Not Mint--- but it's still pretty nice and is working fairly well.  That's all I know and can tell you.    What you see is what you'll get--- the actual item for sale is pictured.... please examine the photos.

Continental US Shipping will be $12.50.  It will be packed well, shipped the next business day after purchase.   International Shipping via the ebay program.

PLEASE READ THIS--- By Buying you Agree that:  I am not Amazon or a professional Camera Store seller--- just a pragmatic collector/shooter selling some Used items.  I'm not here trying to rip anybody off or sneak one past you.    But that said... I'm not into having things go back and forth based on opinion, or risk "part swapping."   So I'm sorry, I can't sell this item on Approval, it's being sold As Is, No Warranty, No Buyers Remorse, No Try-outs, No Returns---- sold as an OLD Camera collectible, that's Not Perfect and has flaws.   I've been a photographer for 35+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for.  But I can't "Bench Test" every thing to factory specs and unless it's Brand New... I can't guarantee that every single aspect may be Perfect... especially when it's a 75+ year old item!  This is an Old, Used Camera and any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge.  I try to be detailed and truthful but I can't describe every millimeter of it, so there may be a nick or blemish or a few specs of dust that I failed to mention... but they would hardly diminish it... unless you expect everything to be like new and 100% Perfect when it was said not to be.    What you see is what you'll get and I package my items well, so it arrives in the same condition as shown.
