Kinoptik Paris Apochromat 25mm F2 - 35mm Cine Format- Cameflex - EX. Condition!

A vintage beauty that boasts both sharpness and contrast!

I purchased this prime a decade or so ago when I still owned a Cameflex 35mm movie camera. It's just been sitting in my kit since I sold my old Eclair CM3 and advanced to shooting with more versatile Arriflex cams.

It's a fine example of a 1960s-era Kinoptik. Cosmetically, it's in really great shape and looks badass still sporting its vintage cine gears from back in its motion picture heydays. The original front and rear lens caps are included and in fine condition. Optically, there's only extremely minor wear to its front and back coatings. No haze, scuffs or scratches. There is some very faint oil on its aperture blades and a few minor internal flecks of dust, as is to be expected with a lens of this vintage. Its focus and aperture rings are both silky-smooth. Please note that the camera seen is for example purposes only and is not included.

This prime is aptly capable of producing nice contrast and sharpness, but still imparts images with that distinct vintage look that's simply impossible to attain with modern lenses. As a general rule, I refuse to shoot cine footage with anything newer than mid-70s glass.

This prime was originally designed to cover vertical-driven 35mm film, so it's not capable of covering 35mm full frame format. The example pics I've included were taken this weekend using a Cameflex-to-E-mount adapter mated to a Sony NEX-3N (APS-C sensor). They are straight off the camera card with NO color/contrast adjustments whatsoever. Of the numerous cinema lenses I've owned over the years, this 25mm was easily one of my top performers. If you're looking for a vintage wide-angle prime with flair to spare, this Kinoptik might be for you!

NOTE: All proceeds from auction sales are being devoted entirely to the creation of my first feature length film. Set in the 1960's, the flick is a sentimental ode to classic Japanese sci-fi cinema. Despite its minuscule budget, the project is jam-packed with giant mutated meanies, flying saucers, classic hot rods and daringly-dressed vixens. All realized with traditional 35mm cameras and practical, old school FX.

Absolutely NO CGI whatsoever!

Should any kind person purchase one of my items, they'll be directly funding my small-scale efforts to keep the fast-vanishing art of celluloid filmmaking alive.
