Another great example of resin being used to achieve stunning degrees of detail. Also by taking two incongruous things, a monkey and a light and making them harmoniously work playfully with one another is key to the success of these lights. I’m not sure it would have been possible to capture any more character with this lamp that it has achieved.

The very fact that a tangible, tactile and life-size monkey, albeit inanimate, is holding aloft a light fitting just automatically gives it movement and a sense of fun- what’s the phrase about monkeys flinging stuff at visitors to a zoo? There is a sense of it being unpredictable, which could be unnerving or exhilarating.

They could so easily falter as it treads the fine line between simply aesthetics or purely ergonomic. I believe this lamp is able to succeed on both design and practicalities to achieve a balance & could easily be found within many interior design schemes. It does not overawe the viewer & detract from its surroundings, so a great piece of design.
