Vintage Gibson Explorer Diablo "Rest-O-Mod" in factory Ebony finish made in 1976 with original hard shell case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body, 1-piece mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Upgraded with a set of Bare Knuckle Handwound custom aged black waged screws "PG Blues" Humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, wired in phase.

Controlled by 2-volume, 1-tone knobs, a 3-way toggle switch with new CTS 500k pots with aged nuts/washers to match the instruments' aged aesthetic. The 24.75" scale length neck has mother of pearl dot inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets with a slim taper neck profile. The hardware consists of a new set of aged gold Kluson deluxe tuning machines with oval heads, a new Graph Tech tusq xl nut, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop tail and an original single-ply white pick-guard with gold speed knobs.

This guitar originally came to us in non-functioning condition with a dead pickup, non-functioning pots, swapped tuners and in need of a restoration. The guitar was sent to one of our in-house guitar luthier's Ronne Monk for the restoration process to be a fully functional guitar once again. We picked out a set of aged Bareknuckle pickups with a new set of modern pots. The unpotted Bareknuckle "PG Blues" have a vintage Gibson tone with the neck pickup in phase for a more universal soloing tone.

The body was lightly buffed to remove the remnants of finish contrast from old sticker fade, still visible, but not as obvious. The Guitar was naturally checked throughout the body and neck which we intentionally left to retain that natural aged patina aesthetic. Ronnie acid aged a modern set of gold Kluson deluxe tuning machines to match the rest of the original hardware while giving it a much needed playing tuning stability. We replaced the worn out nut with a Graph Tech black Tusq XL nut and serviced /re-edged the ABR-1's saddles which needed to be able to hold the strings once again for the hardest of players. This Vintage guitar is once again fully functional, with its modern reliable attributes nicely blended into a killer classic vintage piece and ready to get back on stage!

This guitar is in overall very good condition, it has checking throughout the instrument , scuffs scratches, dings dents and some Finish wear/ chips (see pics)

Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings and includes original hard shell case.
