Very unusual and attractive carved statue featuring Chinese star god Chou Lou ( Chou Xing ) sitting robed, with the peach of Immortality in his arms.
The fine detail is superb, the statue also has a very tactile feel to it but unsure of the material ( possibly some form of resin? )
Whatever it is, it has some substance as the statue weighs over 1.5kgs ( 3.4Ibs ).
The statue also has some age to it ,but again I lack the expertise to give an accurate guess.
Any Info regarding the stature most welcome.
Height is approx 5 1/4ins ( 13.5cms ) and widest point at base approx 7 1/4ins ( 18.5cms )
