A really lovely pair of Derby porcelain figures made for the German market circa 1810. These figures were produced from the original statues made by Peter Scheemakers.

Although they are Derby (without a doubt) they have a painted Mark of crossed swords.

The script on a page flowing away from shakespeare is in German.

Both figures show damage.

Shakespeare shows a very small chip to the base of the figure at the front. The figure also has a crack to the forearm which could or could not have been off at some point and he also has lost one finger Shakespeare also shows a very fine hairline to his right shoulder. There is also a minor chip to the back of the script.

Milton has one hand missing and also shows damage to his left arm he also has his hand missing. The overall height of Shakespeare is 15 cm, the dimensions of the base are 11.1 cm by 7.6 cm. Milton this is the same height with the same dimensions across the base.
