Candlewick was made by Imperial Glass from 1936-1984. This set appears to be starting to turn sun-colored amethyst (SCA) as a result of manganese being used to make earlier clear glass, and it being exposed to UV light for many, many years. For that reason, I believe this piece was made during the earlier years of production, if not one of the first pieces in 1936, by a factory who had some extra manganese laying around after WWI.

Manganese was used in the late 1800s to early 1900s (until WWI) to make clear glass extra, super clear, and is totally harmless. If you leave this set in your back yard or window in direct sunlight for another 6 months to a year, it will turn a more beautiful shade of light amethyst. You can see the very light greyish/amethyst color well on the beads of the tray in the 1st photo.

No chips/cracks/repairs/utensil scratching. All pieces appear unused.
