PRIMULA CORTUSOIDES

Very attractive, floriferous primrose from central Asia, western Siberia and Manchuria. This plant forms a low rosette of medium green ovate to oblong leaves, heart-shaped at the base and to 15 cm long. Star shaped, pink to violet-pink flowers 2 cm across, appear from mid to late spring in tight umbels on stems 15- 30 cm high. They make nice cut flowers, do well in containers, borders and can be used for edging. Prefer not too dry conditions in light shade. Rarely seen in cultivation.
