 COMMELINA DIANTHIFOLIA, WIDOW'S TEARS

This beautiful, delicate-looking perennial from south USA and northern Mexico is also known as the birdbill dayflower. It flowers quickly first year from seeds and can be grown as an annual. Intense gentian-blue flowers (3 cm across) are produced in great abundance from May to frosts. Wonderful in containers, rock gardens, patio and the border. The plant forms tubers and can be lifted and treated like dahlias. Valuable blue-flowered plant.
