This is a pretty nice original 397.5180 Craftsman 3-1/2” bench vise. It has an opening width of just short of 5”. It has surface rust on the bare metal surfaces-but barely any signs of use and zero signs of a hard life. The acme threads are un-rusted and the vise operates smoothly and firmly with no lubricants added. Again-there’s surface rust on the jaws and bare metal areas-but the handles for the vise are straight and no signs of heavy use or abuse at all. This is a perfect vise to use as-is, or strip clean and make it look super nice if that’s you’re thing.
