The whole Leitz ethos was for light and compact cameras that you could pop in your pocket....in a day and age when you almost needed a backpack for a 'portable' camera. So why bog yourself down with scads of glass when with LESS than an  ounce you can have full B+W contrast control? The Elmar is a nice wee lens but often the lower contrast can hurt it, especially when you have the uncoated version. And although small there is a degree of flare which this lens hood more than takes care of!

Letz Elmar filters are really expensive and as rare as can be, I put this little set together cos I'd hate to see a lens suffer needlessly :-) This set covers all the basics and a few more, red/yellow/orange(REAL ORANGE..not a warming filter! There is a difference)/1 stop ND/Sky/green...and a warming filter too :-) All of this fits in a soft cloth case that's so light you won't even know its in your pocket. The shade and adaptor will appear asa tiny sliver in the lower right edge...maybe 1-1.5mm and for that tiny sacrifice you'll have a word of possibilities. So don't let your Elmar suffer through lack of use, take it outside again!
