Crafted from  Shaker style Bentwood materials, the Shakers used them frequently but were not known for making them. The light wood is boiled and bent to shape, then secured with small metal nails.

The piece of wood wrapped around the edge of the lid has some wear and a place just above the first nail that has been broken off.
