This is a 17 mm Allen Wrench which fits VW transmissions, and obviously anything else that needs a 17mm Allen wrench.  I purchased this around 1970 when I had a VW, and it has just been in my took box unused for about 50 years.  Photos are of the actual item for sale.  The steel ruler shown is not a part of this sale.
