In Maine In 1970s At 12 Years Old A Child Could Work Summers Raking Blueberry's

In 1970 Raking Blueberry's Was My First Job

Using This Size Rake "The Harvester"  Would Hold 6 Lbs Of Berry's Full

 We Would Walk The Field String Lined Off In 8 Foot Wide Sections

Carrying And Filling 1/2 Bushel Basket As We Cleaned Our Sections

After They Were Cleaned By Being Run Through A Winnowing Machine

 That Cleaned Leaves, Sticks, & Misc. Field Chafe

Were Paid $2.00 For A 40 Lb. Box Of Berry's
