GENTIANA OSCHTENICA

This rarely seen species is already legendary among growers. It comes from the Caucasus mountains. It is a hardy, low growing, mat forming perennial with tiny, dark green lanceolate leaves and unexpectedly large, brilliant yellow flowers to 4 cm across in spring. Great in rock gardens or containers. It requires good drainage and humous, not too dry soils. A real rarity that is notoriously difficult to obtain.
