Extremely Rare 1941-1942 Hudson Motor Car Co Commodore Factory Paint Trial Scale Model Car.

This is a hard hollow shell of an old Hudson. It has no moving parts. And is strictly for static display only! This is not a toy!

After talking to a long time Hudson Aficionado who already owns a few of these, My understanding is that the Hudson Motor Car Co. used these models as color trials.  They would apply body colors to these models to see what they might look like.  This particular model depicts a coupe on one side and a sedan on the other. This is obviously an unpainted example.

I am not certain what the model is made of completely. The inside of it appears to have been packed with some sort of filler material to strengthen the outter shell, which is a different material than the inside.

Other than guessing by the model of the car, I don't know exactly when or what year this specific one was made.

I acquired it 3rd hand from an auction. Supposedly the estate this came from was owned by a man named Richard Steneck who had previously worked as an Engineer at all the big 3 Auto makers throughout his career. And he also had a part in developing motors for the Grand Prix here in Detroit. He had been collecting historical automotive memorabilia with plans to open a Museum here in Detroit. But he became ill before he was able to complete it.

That's really all the information I've been able to dig up on this rare gem.

•Condition: Excellent Pre-Owned Vintage Condition. I believe the car is in the same condition now as it was the day it was made. It has a few small imperfections from the mold that was used to make it. And the bottom edges don't appear to be fully finished to perfection. But it has no damage of any kind.
