ENCYCLOPAEDIA BRITANNICA OR A DICTIONARY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES – 3 VOLUMES – 1979 REPRINT OF 1767-1772

Original Publisher:  A Bell and C. MacFarquhar, Edinburgh, 1768-1771

Facsimile Reprint: 1979

3-volume hardcover facsimile reprint has a total of 2,459 pages and 160 Andrew Bell copperplate engravings.  The original was issued serially in sections from 1768 and 1771. Vol. I (1769 - 698 pages); Vol. II (1770 - 1,012 pages); Vol. III (1771- 954 pages).  All uniformly bound to resemble three leather-bound books of the original period.

Condition:  Very Good

All spines are tight and intact.  Pages appear unmarked; since this is a reprint, it looks like they have foxing (brown spots) but that is printed along with the text; page ends show marbling, also to look old.  Boards are clean with seemingly tarnished gilt titles on spine; minor wear, as shown in photos.

Thank you for looking.
