Excellent war-time pith helmet correctly made from canvas and trimmed in leather. There are two painted shields pinned to each side. The shields are complete and in a good condition.
The inside liner is made of vented red felt. The sweatband is ink stamped underneath the size "58" - a large mannequin size. The chin strap is intact. The leather rim is in beautiful condition.
Overall, excellent condition, 1st Pattern DAK Pith Helmet with excellent insignias. Hard to upgrade.
Would look superb with addition of dust goggles.
