Designed to provide a low cost operator interface solution for machine builders, the Allen Bradley 2711-K5A8L1 is a compact 5.5 inch keypad monochrome operator panel from the Panelview 550 range of HMIs. The AB 2711-K5A8L1 comprises of; 10 function keys, a numeric keypad, cursor control keys and DH+ Communication and RS-232 Printer Port. All this is contained within the PV550’s compact shell.

By utilising the Microsoft Windows platform, PanelBuilder32 simplifies application design and reduces development costs. Screen configuration is easy using tools such as symbols, objects, graphics and imported bitmap images. Cut, copy and paste Panelview application for additional time saving advantages.
The 2711-K5A8L1 also takes advantage of ATA PC Flash memory cards. These memory cards can be used to transfer application files, store special ASCII font files and ULS font files and update the firmware on your Allen Bradley PV550. This functionality is a major advantage in breakdown situations, where setting up a replacement is crucial.
PanelView terminals running firmware 3.0 (or later) and computers with an ATA card drive support the following cards.

Communications Options
RS-232 (DH-485) Communications Interface
The 2711-K5A8L1 features a Data Highway Plus Port. The Data Highway Plus terminals are capable of point-to-point communication with a single controller as well as network communication with multiple controllers over an Allen-Bradley DH+ network. Direct access to controller data files minimizes ladder logic. Application files are easily downloaded or uploaded using PanelBuilder32 over the DH+ network or directly via the on-board RS-232 printer port, or with a PC memory card.
