Mouse On Mars , Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner, return with their most imaginative and original album yet, Dimensional People. The new album reunites the Berlin duo with Thrill Jockey, for whom the duo had already produced three albums in the early 2000s. After a series of dancefloor releases, "Dimensional People" shows how deeply Mouse On Mars work in their musical language and manage to rearrange elementary components again. This album reveals what shapes her art: discovery, new contexts for places, sounds, memories, sensations, atmospheres, technologies, relationships - and of course people. A number of special guests joined the production: Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Zach Condon (Beirut), Spank Rock, Aaron and Bryce Dessner (The National), Swamp Dogg, Eric D. Clarke, Lisa Hannigan, Amanda Blank, Sam Amidon, Ensemble Musikfabrik and about 20 other artists. The cast is as unique as each individual character alone, clearly a huge asset for the extraordinary Berlin duo. Recording for the album began at Mouse On Mars ' Paraverse 4 studio at Funkhaus Berlin, through experiments with sonic robots, percussionists and ensemble musicians. Originally dubbed New Constructivist Socialism, "Dimensional People" gives each participating guest a platform to shape the album as whoever or whatever they choose to be: as a narrator, as a perfect moment, a jam, as an ensemble member , an abstract sound, a multiple personality, a mood or as a soloist. Originally as a spatial composition with object-based mixed media, playing with the possibilities of sonic design and a collective musician shop, the recording expands on these ideas.
