Description: Two volumes, one in dust jacket; slipcase lacking. 9.5 x 12.25 inches, pp. xi, 270; v, 271-543, with bibliography, index, facsimile maps (12 folding). Voliume I has some light staining to the jacket and front board; Volume II has some scuffing to the rear board. Internals fine. Ristow: "Although emphasis is on the northwest coast of America, this is a useful reference work to the student of the historical cartography of America. It contains an extensive index, bibliography, list of place names as well as a list of maps. An exhaustive and scholarly publication, which includes a note on practically every important map of the world between 1507 and 1794."

Any ex-library book will be graded no higher than Good, even if it is otherwise a very nice copy. Again, all flaws will be noted. We rarely offer any books in Fair or Poor condition, but if we do, the reasons for the grade will be evident from the photo(s) and description.
