Here is a lovely LISA KATZENSTEIN NURSERY SET CONSISTING OF A PLATE, BOWL AND CUP.
Lisa Katzenstein was born in Albuquerque,New Mexico and her family moved to Italy when she was 4. She moved to London, England, when she was 10. Ultimately, she moved to Hastings in Sussex, England where she has settled. She studied in London's Central School of Art and Design at the end of the 1970s and went on to the Royal College of Art, achieving an MA in Ceramics in 1983. She made tableware and now concentrates on one off maiolica pieces.
This charming set consist of a plate, bowl and cup. Each piece has a white ground. There is a lavender borderline to the top rim and bottom rim of the cup, two lavender borderlines framing the top and bottom of the bowl and on the edge of the rim and edge of the well on the plate. The cup has a miaowing black and white cat and a cheeky mouse just standing on it's haunches, teasing the cat. On the base of the inside of the cup you will see a mouse running away, not wishing to push it's luck!
The bowl has the cat running after the mouse, this motif appears three times around the outside of the bowl. On the inside of the bowl you will see the cat and mouse "chatting" (LOL)
The plate has the running cat and mouse appear between the two borderlines, on the rim. The cat and mouse appear on the well of the plate. again, "chatting" !
To the base of all three items you will see an oval black borderline with a yellow background inside it. There is the running mouse motif and the words MADE IN ENGLAND and copyright Lisa Katzenstein.
The cup measures approximately 7 cm high with a top rim diameter of 7 cm. The measurement from the edge of the handle to the edge of the cup is approximately 9.5 cm. The cup has a capacity of 200 ml.
The bowl measures approximately 5.5 cm high with a top and bottom rim diameter of approximately 10.5 cm. The bowl is slightly footed.
The dish has a diameter of approximately16 cm.
Each item in this set is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
