Inkline Sumi Tsubo is similar to a Western snap line. However, instead of using a chalk line, they use a fine silk line saturated with ink which lays down a thin, precise line. This Sums Tsubo was made in the old style from Keyaki. Keyaki is a wood much valued for its grain patterns and is widely used in Tansu (Japanese cabinets). A special water resistant finish brings out the warm color of the wood and emphasizes its grin pattern.

A piece of art, to say the least!
