Returns:

We do not accept any returns on a bespoke item ''bespoke defined as’’ :  being altered from its original condition’’ some examples, but not limited to: part bitumen removed, full bitumen removed, outer edges cleaned, surface cleaned, tongue removed or re machined etc – once ordered. We are also not obliged to accept returns or refund on any second-hand item or an older unfitted item, for example something that has never been fitted, but has age to it as its been stored for years. We may however exchange these items or offer to re sell for you and the cost of any return postage will be at the cost of yourselves.  Any brand-new items or uncleaned reclaimed items that have physically been viewed, or you have received samples of and ordered will not qualify for a refund, but we will offer an exchange or offer to re-sell for you.

Bitumen removal: Where bitumen removal is stated in the listing, this means that the bitumen will be removed from the underside of the parquet flooring. Underside being referred to as any part of the parquet block that touches the ground directly. We do not remove the bitumen from the edges/ends or t&g ''(if applicable''). We remove the bitumen sufficiently enough for you to re-lay the floor without any prior preparation to the underside. We cannot remove 100% of the bitumen and there will stop be some remnants of bitumen on the blocks.

Depths: These blocks have a uniform thickness give or take a mm or 2. With all reclaimed parquet flooring blocks, there may be a degree of variation in the thickness/depth from one block to another. Some batches of parquet may have only the odd block, other batches may have only 1mm to 2mm variation, but others may have up to 4 - 5 mm variation, which is around industry standard.  This is perfectly normal and should not deter you or your fitter from fitting them at all. Any reputable floor fitter who is accustom to fitting a reclaimed floor should be able to sufficiently deal with reclaimed block variation differs.

Tongue and Grooves / Edges: With most reclaimed flooring, some of the t&g may be damaged below the surface. This is of absolute no detriment to the overall floor and will not at all prevent you from successfully fitting the floor. With the adhesives on the market today, in our opinion, a tongue is of absolute no importance to a floor. In most cases where parquet is sent to us for bitumen removal, we are in 80% of cases asked to remove the tongue and make the t&g block in to a straight edge block.  Unless stated, we do not clean out the t&g nor do we clean the outer edges of t&g or straight edge blocks.   If you do require any of these services, please ask and we will be happy to assist.

Disclaimer:  Unfortunately, with any reclaimed floor, unless the surfaces are pre sanded you just do not know what is beneath the lacquer or within the block itself. Most reclaimed floors are over 50 years old, some 100 years old. It is only natural that in their life, these floors may have been damaged, repaired, patched up and covered over etc etc.  We can not guarantee any reclaimed block be perfect, unless you wish to pay to have the surface fully stripped prior to purchase, and then, as these are second hand floors, you are bound to have imperfections, such as (but not limited to) water damage, different species mixed in, nails, tacks, pins, dings and dents etc. Most imperfections actually add to the character of the floor. For avoidance of doubt please purchase a new floor if you wish to avoid these things as we do not offer refunds on account of these eventualities.
