This is a Dugan decanter from the early 1900's. It is 12 inches in height with the original stopper in place. It is hand painted with a floral motif of daisies and leaves around the center. The glass on both a decanter and its stopper is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or any other damage seen. There appears to be some calcium/water deposits on the inside bottom; see photo.
In 1907, the Dugan Glass Company catalog contained twelve wine sets on one full page. They were made in crystal ,nile green, and blue with painted floral motifs. The decanters are made of blown glass and have 2 distinctive Dugan features: the design of the stopper and the applied handle with its unusual shape as seen in the above photos.
