CANON EOS-1N HS - in near mint condition - boxed + UNUSED - 6FPS!!

The HS being a 'higher spec / higher speed' version of the 1N combining the Power Drive Booster E1 (PDB-E1) with the EOS-1N, providing high-speed continuous shooting at up to 6fps* (from 3fps) and increased shooting capacity.

*up to 5fps during predictive AF.

The PDB-E1 can use either 8 AA alkaline batteries or 8 rechargeable AA Ni-Cd batteries. Having an asterisk next to the AE lock button on the vertical grip means is a later version and allows the use of AA lithium batteries which decrease the camera weight by approximately 60g.

The Power Booster Drive E1 is not just an accessory using various power sources, but an independent motor drive unit rather an integrated system component for the camera. The increased film advance rate simultaneously goes in line with performance of other areas such as AF, film rewind options and overall power efficiency in different operational conditions etc. Also the overall film winding/rewinding noise level is significantly reduced as compared to the EOS-1N (non HS) model.

Additionally the PDB-E1 allows portrait orientation shooting as has an additional shutter release button at the end of the grip in addition to the AE lock button.

How rare is this, an ultra high end pro SLR canera in unused condition..these machines were built for high pro use and punishment. Guess could compare to an unused DXii in the DSLR world..Canon's penultimate EOS-1 DSLR.

Notes:

Film plate protective cover still fitted and needs to be removed before first use. Very slight stickiness to mode door cover (common on this model).

Contacts/connectors appear perfect, no oxidation etc.

I am not a camera technician and offer no guarantees as to the camera's functionality, other than advising cosmetic condition as pristine.

This is a definite must for any camera museum or serious collector..when will you find another unused example. Simply 'hen's teeth' to use an overused cliché..

If intend to use and not familiar with how the camera works, would recommend taking to a specialist to fettle and prep for use. Contacts may have oxidised or any magnets de-magnetised. This camera has not been used, sitting in its box from new.

I will not tinker with the camera as don't want to accidentally mark or damage and request the buyer confirms by Ebay Messenger that accepts  the camera may not function and will require a professional service before first use.

..just as you would with any high end supercar if sitting unused for 25-30 years. Makes sense!

Being super critical there is some very slight what apoears as degradation of rubber around the custom functions flap (by red button) + rubber viewer eyecup has whitened..can be replaced with new cheaply if desired.
