Tom Keifer (b.1961) is an American vocalist, guitarist & songwriter for the glam metal band Cinderella. He formed the band with bassist Eric Brittingham, then joined by guitarist Jeff LaBar & drummer Jim Drnec. After recording debut album, Night Songs ('86) was completed, Drnec left before its release & Fred Coury joined. Night Songs went 3x Platinum & hit #3 on the USA Billboard charts. Their 1st tour was in ‘86 with the band Poison, opening for Japanese metal band Loudness. Further tours into ‘87 were spent opening for both singer David Lee Roth & the band Bon Jovi.  Album Long Cold Winter ('88) signified a shift towards a blues rock sound, though it could still be described as glam metal. The album tour lasted 14 months. Stage shows included Keifer being lowered to the stage while playing a white piano during their hit Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone). 3rd album Heartbreak Station ('90) featured more songs influenced by the blues. Coury left the band soon after. In ‘91 Keifer underwent surgeries for a vocal cyst & hemorrhage. This delayed their 4th album Still Climbing, which was finally released in ‘94 with Kenny Aronoff on drums. By the mid-‘90s, the band's popularity declined due to personal setbacks, break-ups & changes in the music industry. After a hiatus, Cinderella reunited in ‘96 & continued to perform live, but never released any new studio material. In ‘99, the band was signed to Sony, but were dropped by the label before a new album could be released. They toured again in 2000, 2002, 2005 & in 2006. In 2008 it was announced that Keifer's vocal cord had hemorrhaged, making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future. In 2010 Cinderella opened for Bret Michaels during the Common Ground Music Festival with the original line-up of Keifer, Brittingham, LaBar & Coury & then opened for the Scorpions on their farewell tour. In 2011 & 2012 Cinderella undertook a 25th anniversary world tour before disbanding with Keifer stating they had no plans to reunite. Cinderella has sold over 15 million records!  Keifer went on to work with country artist Andy Griggs & appeared on an episode of Extreme Makeover, where he helped a fan write a song. He released & toured with solo album The Way Life Goes in 2013. In 2017 he performed in Loud-N-Lima's 3-Day Music Festival, featuring various artists from the hair metal era's peak. His 2nd solo album Rise was released in 2019.
