Used 1988 Yamaha 40 Hp 2 stroke 3 cylinder Lower Gear leg assembly with propeller shaft & drive shaft. Casting number 6H401Y-1 (as shown in picture) with part number 6H4-45300-02( part number per on line manuals). The propeller shaft has 13 spline and the drive shaft top has 14 spline. See attached pictures for dimensions. You must add the correct lower leg gear oil since we have drained it to prepare for shipping. Looks like part of this lower leg has been repainted. The previous owner advised us that this outboard motor was sitting idle for the last few years. Since this lower leg is more than 10 years old we suggest to change the seals and check the water pump impeller to see if it needs to be changed. This Lower Gear Leg assembly was removed from a 1988 Yamaha 40 Hp outboard with Model number 40EMSG with serial number 6H4 S 150233. Measuring tape & Calipers are not included but only shown for dimensions. To avoid injury, harm or malfunction we suggest that all parts should be installed by a certified outboard motor mechanic.
