This will make a great project! The surface material is unfortunately disintegrating off of the leather belt. The buckle is in tact & in used condition with 1 jewel missing. A wire brush can wisk  away the surface material or if you work with leather you can transfer this beautiful belt buckle onto a  leather Chicos belt. The black "dusty" surface material is what you'll see in the photos that is the surface layer of the belt.
