Edward Heath Autograph on British Rail Note Pad Paper 1981

product image
In 1981, aged 16, I was visiting Lancaster train station with my father, when he told me: “there’s Edward Heath”. He had evidently given a talk at the university earlier that day, and was sitting by the booking office with his entourage. I approached him for an autograph, which he was happy to oblige- I probably looked a bit of a yob in my combat jacket, Ian Gillan tour scarf and longish hair (to my father’s great chagrin), but he was quite affable!

From a strictly non-smoking home!
