This is an International Harvester banner advertising their new trucks. It was made sometime in the 1950s from very heavy paper. This gem measures 33-1/2" tall by 114" wide or just 3" under 3 feet tall by 9-1/2 feet wide. The 5tth photo shows it in front of a car to give you some idea of how large this really is.

The 4th and 5th photos show the vibrant colors best. The first 3 photos were taken with two people holding it up in from of a shop door that was in the shade. That is why the colors in the first 3 photos are not as vibrant as they really are.

I recently found this beauty in an old building that was an IH dealer here in central Montana until it was shut down in 1960. The famous and very attractive IH red and black block logo first appeared on the R-Series trucks in later 1952 or 1953 to the best of my knowledge. Since the dealer where this came from closed in 1960, I would have to assume this banner was made sometime between 1952 and 1960.

The paper is in good condition for the most part except for the obvious water damage, mainly on the left end. Perhaps a paper restoration specialist could make this banner look better. Even though it has some damage, this is still a very impressive piece of IH history.

You might do well to give some very serious thought to hitting the "Buy It Now" button before some other very serious IH collector does so. I can ship this item to any country outside of North America most economically using Priority Mail International from the United States Postal Service.

I am an avid collector of full-size cars, trucks, tractors, toys, models, signs, banners, posters, and whatever else happens to interest me. I have had some fabulous pieces of International Harvester, John Deere, Ford, Case, Allis Chalmers, Oliver, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Mercury, Lincoln, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Imperial, Studebaker, Nash, Rambler, Buick, Edsel, Packard, Cord, Auburn, Diamond T, Kissel Kar, Franklin, and many other makes of items through the years. I am always interested in more of these items if you happen to have some to sell or trade.
