A real unique Burns collectors item,

The tankard appears to be chalkware/ plaster of paris/ gypsum type material with several small areas of damage

especially base of handle ,to the poet's features and round the bottom. However surprisingly this actually enhances the piece!

Standing 6 inches high and 4 1/2inches in diameter 15 cms x 11.5cms with a real mixture of Burns Information.

The handle is decorated with a Scottish Thistle on the top

Round the Bottom is the poet's name and the immortal line "A MAN'S A MAN FOR A' THAT"

Above is a bust of the poet, and next Burns Birthplace with an etched picture of Burns Cottage and short description including Place/Born/Death/Age Info .

Then there is a scroll with the words of the poem "Auld Lang Syne" now the world's most popular parting song.

The most unusual item is in the top right hand of the scroll which is Burn's Seal which rarely appears on normal burns collectables.

The Seal depicts a shield bearing a holly bush below a crossed shepherd's pipe and crook. Above the shield is a wood lark on a branch of a bay tree.

Overall a simply unique item.
