- 1901 Canada RPPC ~ Royal Timber Slide on the Ottawa River ~ Ottawa, Ontario.
- Photo is the Duke of Cornwall party riding the slide during Royal Visit (Sept. 23, 1901).
- The Duke & Duchess of Cornwall & York (future King George V & Queen Mary) are on the slide.
- In 1860 the Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII) rode a timber slide.
- Timber slides are water chutes built to carry "cribs" (rafts) of timber around rapids & waterfalls.
- Photo permission given by The Agency General For Canada (printed on side of photo).
- Photo title was misspelled "Timbeer" and should have read Timber.
- Published c.1905 by Aristophot Co., London, England.
