1901 Canada RPPC ~ Royal Timber Slide on the Ottawa River ~ Ottawa, Ontario.
Photo is the Duke of Cornwall party riding the slide during Royal Visit (Sept. 23, 1901).
The Duke & Duchess of Cornwall & York (future King George V & Queen Mary) are on the slide.
In 1860 the Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII) rode a timber slide.
Timber slides are water chutes built to carry "cribs" (rafts) of timber around rapids & waterfalls.
Photo permission given by The Agency General For Canada (printed on side of photo).
Photo title was misspelled "Timbeer" and should have read Timber.
