This is an 18th Century Persian Diamond Scale from the time of Fath Ali Shah. The scale is a steel equal arm balance with swan neck ends and brass pans. The beam is 12.2 cm long and the pans are 5.5 cm in diameter. The black painted wooden box is cut from one piece of wood and measures 15 cm x 9.5 cm. The hinges and clasp are in great shape. There is a complete set of 7 brass weights. This is a great piece of history.
