In addition to the "barefoot feel" that characterizes the DS LIGHT series, we have also pursued heel hold. The shape of the heel counter has been updated to enhance stability for high performance even during intense movements. The heel counter is positioned to hold the calcaneus bone, the largest of the heel bones, firmly in place. The thickness of the heel counter has also been adjusted to properly hold the heel when weight is placed on the heel. The front of the upper (instep) is made of platinum kangaroo leather. The foam material inside has been changed from low density to high density, and the thickness has been changed from 3mm to 4mm, in pursuit of a luxurious feel and softness to the touch. MOIS TECT treatment is also applied to prevent hardening even after use in the rain.　The concave design on the inside of the sole reduces rigidity, while the convex design on the outside increases rigidity. The new design reduces outward torsion while allowing for inward torsion by balancing the strength of the inner and outer sole.
