Mario Guzman Olivares was born in Cordova, Veracruz in 1975. He began his professional studies in Oaxaca in 1993 at the school of fine arts. On 3 occasions, from 1994 to 2006, he received scholarships to develop projects. He participated in a print exchange between Spain, Japan and Oaxaca, Mexico from 2004 to 2006. Guzman was a founder of the ASARO Collective in 2006. Currently he has a workshop to teach fine arts to young people who come from poor communities in Oaxaca.
