National Geographic is a popular American monthly magazine published by National Geographic Partners.  Known for its photojournalism, it is one of the most widely read magazines of all time.  It was founded in 1888 as a scholarly journal.

The 164-page July 2008 issue of this magazine is available and as always, it does not disappoint.  The topics covered by this magazine are as appropriate today as they were when it was published.

The cover story is titled:  Virunga Gorillas - Murder haunts Africa's oldest park.

Other featured articles include:

The Altiplano - "Otherworldly" is the word for Bolivia's sky-high plain.

Bolivia's New Order - The country's indigenous people assert their power.

Tyrannosaur Trap - An ancient death struggle tells its story in stone.

Under Fire - Flames threaten the American West.  Again.

Kingman Reef - Is this our last, best look at what a coral reef should be?

Other Departments Include:

VISIONS OF EARTH - Japan, Qatar, Gulf of Aqaba.
ARCHAEOLOGY - Reopening the Romanov Case
WILDLIFE - Spotlight on Giraffe Spots
CULTURE - A New Olympic Splash

This magazine has been read but is in fantastic shape.

If you were to purchase a back issue through the National Geographic Society, it would cost $7.00 with U.S. delivery.

I have a number of back issues of National Geographic from various years.  If you are looking for a specific issue, please let me know.  I supply shipping discounts to multiple purchases.

Due to changes in USPS policy and a recent postage rate increase, I have had to raise my shipping costs.
