Godox AD100PRO Overview

Building in the popularity of its predecessor, the AD100Pro Pocket Flash from Godox is a compact speedlight with a removable lithium-ion battery that will give you up to 360 full-power flashes and thousands of lower power flashes.

The AD100pro has impressive core features such as 100Ws of power adjustable in nine steps from 1/256 to 1/1, recycling times from 0.01 to 1.5 seconds, and short flash durations. The AD100pro has manual, auto, and stroboscopic capability. Manual mode outputs the user's choice of power, modeling light, and first or second curtain sync. Multi mode controls the stroboscopic rate up to 90 times (90 Hz). Optional wireless transmitters with 32-channel and four groups system control flash mode, first and second curtain sync, High-Speed Sync up to 1/8000 second, power level, and modeling lamp at distances up to 328'. Firmware updates are obtainable on the Godox website.

A true hand-holdable strobe, the AD100Pro weighs just over 1 lb and measures only 4.7" long and 3" wide. While its round head produces natural-looking light out of the box, pairing it with the separately available AK-R1 Accessory Kit adds even more creative control via barndoors, a diffusion dome, and filtration secured with magnets.

For even greater light-shaping possibilities, the AD100Pro can be used with the S2 bracket, which extends its compatibility to any Bowens-mount modifier. A removable mounting bracket with an umbrella socket is included for use with light stands. Two threaded mounts underneath the unit allow you to adjust the position of the light on the mounting bracket for easier handheld use.

The AD100Pro uses the same wireless radio system as other AD lights and can be controlled by X1, X2, or XPRO wireless remotes. Nine steps of power adjustment are available for refining flash output, and an LED modeling light can be used for planning shots or as a video light, in a pinch. TTL and HSS capabilities are available when working with compatible cameras and triggers. A bright LCD screen on the back of the unit makes it easy to keep track of settings. Recycle times as fast as 0.01 second and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack that lasts for up to 360 full-power flashes per charge provide dependable performance, no matter your subject. A carrying case is included for safe storage when not in use.
