Antique Mettlach V&B Beer Stein Etched Dancing Couples #1162 by C.Worth c.1903

Description: This gorgeous stein was made by Villeroy and Boch in Mettlach in 1883. It is made in etched technique, with the relief enamel creating a wonderful effect. 

The central medallion of the stein portraits a dancing pair in peasant clothes, the side scenes show some other dancing couples - old and young. The idea of the stein is dancing for all ages and social groups. The stein was designed by Christian Worth - the most famous Mettlach artist and designer who created many beautiful Mettlach pieces.

The stein is fully marked on the bottom with incised Mettlach tower mark, mold number 1162 and "03" for the date of manufacturing 1903.

The stein is in excellent flawless condition - a collector's dream. No damage, flaws or repairs. The inside is spotless white.

This is a nice and impressive stein, with history and tradition behind it.

It is 8.5" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5 L capacity.
