A collaboration between the Belgian brand and Laurent Picciotto, proprietor of the Parisian watch boutique Chronopassion, the Ressence Type 1 ZZ is a highly limited riff on Ressence's first design. Based on the Type 1 Slim, it's named after both the Flemish term for "black black" — "Zwart Zwart" — and for Picciotto's beloved rock band ZZ Top. Its rotating discs are rendered in matte dark grey PVD, while the hands are black polished steel and the engraved indications are filled with black paint. The 42mm case is made from matte black DLC titanium and is held in place with a black barenia strap. Limited to just 20 examples and available exclusively from Chronopassion.

Movement Swiss made, Automatic Caliber ROCS 1.3, based on ETA 2892, features 40 jewels, 27 gears. Power reserve of 36 hours. The patented ROCS 1 is driven by the minute axle of a customized self-winding 2892 base calibre. "Ressence Orbital Convex System" is a state of the art horological complication module composed of 107 parts including the main and sub discs. The result is a 3 dimensional dial entirely in motion and everchanging.
