Gem Unc (11: 2,4,5) RB 90%. FS-901. The rare Shallow N. This is the toughest date/design combination in the entire series!. The 1871 date is very scarce and to find an example in such a high grade makes this a high grade rarity. The fact that it is a Shallow N as well, makes this a super rarity. Only two examples are known in this grade and none are graded higher. The other one just sold for $61,875 in the Stewart Blay sale. This example has a few spots on the reverse and the reverse is 90% red. The obverse is full red and problem free. With these considerations, this coin is quite bargain.
