Vintage Mairice L. Rothschild Original Adjusto Tie

Woven soft solid maroon twill fabric in a diamond point style bow tie. Black lining. Not labeled for fabric content, I think it is silk.

About 1.75" wide at bow, slightly wider at ends.

Adjustable with metal slides from about 13 to a little over 17 to a total length of 35".

Labeled " Maurice L. Rothschild Chicago, The Original Adjusto Tie c A.I.C. Reg. U.S. Pat. Off Pat. No. 1486822 3-11-24 Exclusive size band feature insures perfect fit.”

This patent was issued to Isidore D. and Fay Wolfson in 1924. The Maurice L. Rothschild store in Chicago opened in 1903 and closed in 1972. It was located at the corner of State Street and Jackson Blvd.

Pre-owned older vintage bow tie in good, clean condition, minor signs of wear around slide area, some creasing in knot/neck area. An end of the neckband looks to have been re-sewn to the metal slide at some point but is attached securely.
