DENDROBIUM KINGIANUM ORCHID
LARGE Specimen Size Plant
On offer today is the specimen size plant shown in the photos that has been grown by division or from keikis from the Pink Rock Orchid that I have been growing now for over 43 years since I rescued it from the floor of a McEwans Hardware (remember them!) shop in Thomastown.
This plant would be about 12-14 years old, was repotted last summer, and as you can see has put on a considerable number of new good strong canes recently. I would expect an exceptional spring flowering around September/October next year.
Dendrobium Kingianum is a mostly lithophytic orchid native to eastern Australia ranging from the Hunter River area of New South Wales through the ranges and coastal belt all the way up to Rockhampton in Queensland. Given the right conditions it should bloom every spring on racemes that can contain anywhere from two to fifteen flowers. These racemes can appear on last years canes and also on old growth canes, often with more than one raceme on a single cane.

Shipping
Items will be dispatched within 1-2 business days of receipt of cleared funds. We are happy to combine multiple items to reduce postage, however we will never compromise the safety of items being sent.
We do not intentionally profit from postage and do not charge for boxes and packaging as we always try to use recycled materials.
When our actual postage cost is significantly less than the quoted figure (which does include a very small handling fee) if you pay through PayPal we will refund any significant excess charges after the item has been shipped.

Many of the items we offer are very old and quite likely have been used over the years. They were also manufactered using less sophisticated methods of manufacture than those in use today, and items offered will generally reflect the manufacturing methods in use at the time the item was made. It is not uncommon for items of this age to have ash specks, glaze bubbles, kiln marks etc.
We always try to ensure that any marks which impact on the presentation of the item are detailed in the item description.
