In my ongoing quest for beautiful old bakelite utensils, to be used as tobacco pipe bodies...sometimes I come across an amazing piece that is too small for pipe making.   

    Fortunately,  these wonderful bits of kitchen history, often make perfect little pipe tampers.   They feel great in the hand, have amazing mid century designs and do the job of tobacco tamping very nicely.  Remember,  the bits and pieces are vintage so they will have their share of patina and character...but I try to choose the highest quality I can find.

   When I come across good stock, I will make them into tampers...so check back now and again to see what I have.  Sometimes I may have one of a particular design,  sometimes a few...it's the fun and uncertainty of hunting for nice vintage stuff.
