In a possible future, Lois Lane has a daughter by Superman, who fights crime as Superlass. Lois, who has been blinded, falls in love with a monstrous hunchbacked man. Her sight is eventually restored, and she sees her deformed suitor. The man turns out to be the missing (and presumed dead) hero, but Superman once more leaves the love of his life, convinced that no one can bear his grotesque appearance.
