This is a beautiful piece of studio pottery. It features a leaf pattern that was created using 2 different techniques. In the center, the brown leaves are carved around to give them dimension, and there is a slight embossing to their veining. Around the border of the tray, some of the leaves are deeply stamped into the clay with their veins in sharp relief.  This area has a tan glaze over a green underglaze. This artist spent a lot of time and effort creating this work of art!

The tray is signed on the back, but it was done so lightly that all I can make out are the "P"s starting the first and last name. Such a shame because I would love to give them credit for creating this beauty.
