An adorable 1960"s American made Teddy bear measuring about 17 x 12 x 6 inches. The bear is a wind-up model and plays "rock-a-bye-baby".

The bear was originally offered by the Character Novelty Co. established in 1932. Two New Yorkers established the firm, and by the end of WW11, it was booming. The designers, Caesar Mangiapani and Jack Levy complimented each other with different talents. The large plastic eyes and hand stitched nose cord reveal his common trait-the red felt tongue. (Earlier examples had a tag sewn into the left ear, and many times had felt circles under the eyes).

This bear has a seam down the front with contrasting ears. His ears match his sole fur pads!

The fur is an acrylic, dating him to 1960s. His music box works!

He is in great condition.
