Item up for sale is an incredible clarinet made by H. Bettoney with markings on the instrument and case identifying it as a military band instrument. Exterior case and bell both bear a "US" mark. Back side of the case is stenciled with " 81STBand Memphis". Instrument was found with accessories as shown. All metal accessories show tarnish and patina consistent with age and use and could use a polish. Plastic mouthpiece has no markings we can see with no chips, cracks or breaks.

Instrument itself has no markings to indicate what metal it is constructed of with the finish having a silver tone that we believe to be nickel plating. Item is marked with a serial number of A4625. Metal shows no cracks or breaks with metal showing tarnish and patina consistent with age and use so a polish may be in order. Interior of the bell shows handwritten numbers that look to have been done with permanent marker. New owner should assume any and all pads / corks will need replacement. Instrument without mouthpiece or mouthpiece hardware attached measures 22-3/8" in length by 2-3/4" across the bell.

Original case bears a US mark along with a "The Cundy Bettoney Co." badge. Exterior of the case shows some old tape residue with surface wear consistent with age and use. Interior fabric shows some soiling and wear consistent with age and use. Metal shoulder supports on the case show tarnish and patina. Original handle is present and shows leather surface wear and loss. Case measures 4" top to bottom (not including handle) by 24-1/2" wide by 3-5/8" in depth. Amazing piece that comes fresh to the market. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
