A Flash Guard is used to prevent adjacent shooters from being burned by the escaping flame and gases from the vent when a flintlock is fired in close proximity. Many historical reenactment events require the use of a flashguard, as also do many historical shooting sports clubs.
Our brass flash guard is designed to fit most flintlocks with bridles between the pan and the frizzen. They can be bent or otherwise modified to fit virtually any traditional sidelock / flintlock design.
