Numerous online sources identify this bronze bell with a molded Elephant to be from the Karen Hill area and Karen Hill tribe of Thailand. The stand of of a dark/black wood. The bell is suspended in the cradle by strands of a stiff reed, but one side of the reed support has deteriorated which has allowed the bell to lower and lay on the bottom surface, preventing it from suspension.
